Homo-parade blocked by defenders of tradition

On Sunday, July 8th, an LGBT parade marched in Częstochowa. It is the city, where Jasna Góra is located – a holy place for Catholics and a pilgrimage destination. The homosexuals wanted to walk near the monastery and ‘greet’ the monks that reside there. The supporters of normality were not indifferent to the provocative plans of LGBT movement and organized a response.

LGBT groups and their supporters started the march at 11:00 a.m. The event was attended by between 1,000 and 1,500 people (although some sources mention 600 or even 200-300 people). However the members of the parade were blocked.

Moreover, the defenders of traditional values met at 12 pm near Jasna Góra. Participants of the event ‘Reduta Niepokalanej’ prayed as a sign of protest against the sin of homosexuality. As a result of various protests, the police disbanded the homo-parade. However, it cannot be ruled out that further actions will follow in the near future.

– They will try all the time – said Maciej Maleszyk from the Crusade of the Young in an interview with PCh24.pl. – I suspect they will do so again in a year’s time. They will test whether the reaction of the public has already softened or is still hard: ‘no, no, no’.
